You are looking to launch a blog. Well, we have built a lot ourselves and the thought of launching a new blog can be scary. But the good news is we are here to help you with providing a checklist of things you need to do in order to launch a blog.

Select a niche

What will your blog focus on? What makes your approach different from other blogs and media entities in your chosen field? If you’re just another me-too voice, it will be difficult to gain traction.

Brainstorm Ideas & Strategy

Keeping your end goals in mind, brainstorm some ideas on how you are going to reach the goals that you have set for yourself.

Get a domain name

A domain name is something your readers will type in their browser to get to your website. You’ll need to register a domain name to get started. You can try Domain.com or Godaddy for registering your domain name

Get a hosting

You want to ensure that your blog doesn’t hit bumps in the road when your service decides that you’re using too much bandwidth. Personally, we prefer Bluehost because it is easy to set up and provides lots of services plus their customer care is very friendly.

Install wordpress

This can be a little complicated for beginners but if you choose Bluehost as your web host, you can install WordPress with a single click.

Select attributes and install plugins

This is an integral part of your blog’s design. The important element is consistency. Over time, it makes your blog recognizable. Plugins are snippets of code that add special features to your blog.

Select a theme

Before you install any plugins and select attributes, pick a theme that makes your blog look more professional. The design should be simple and must be easy on the eyes. You can get a free theme from your WordPress dashboard or you can go and purchase a premium theme.

About page

Introduce yourself and your blog. Assert your authority by telling them about your experience and why they should trust your writing.

Add an SSL certificate and Google Analytics account

You need this certificate to secure your website or Google will show your site as “Not Secure”. You can get the free SSL certificate if you are using Bluehost.

Google Analytics helps you track your visitors and see on what page they enter and how the behave once they are on your blog.

Promote your blog

Your work isn’t finished when you hit the publish button. You need to place your blogs across your owned and social media.
